Background
When saving a project to Project Server 2007, the system throws the error “The following job failed to complete. Job Type: Save - Error ID: 42(0x2A) - Error description: the project could not be saved to the server. Please retry saving the project. If the problem persists, save the project as an mpp and contact the administrator.
The system displays a red flag in the status bar at the bottom of the project page.
Resolution
There are a number of task conditions that can cause this behavior, the following is a partial list of known causes, however the list may not be complete. To avoid this problem avoid tasks meeting these conditions in your plan.
Do not create Summary Tasks with 0 duration, 0 work, 0% complete
Do not use blank lines in your schedules
Do not set dependency links at the Summary Task level
