Resolution

By default, Project Server 2003 does not allow users of Microsoft Project 2002 to log into Project Server. To resolve this issue, the Project Server administrator must complete the following steps:

1. Log into Project Web Access with administrator permissions

2. Click Admin – Manage users and groups

3. Click the Groups link in the sidepane

4. Select the Project Managers group and click the Modify Group button

5. In the Global Permissions grid, set the Connect to Project Server using Microsoft Project 2002 permission to Allow

6. Click the Save Changes button

7. Set the same permission for members of the Portfolio Managers group and other groups as needed
